Honeymoon Part II

 The Honeymoon Part II - well I promised more pictures - you will all be wishing you hadn't asked about it!!

The Rocky Mountains were absolutely fabulous - everyone moment was a wow moment - the First Nations (politically correct name for the Native Indians)  called it a Yo Ho moment - all of the Waterfalls were so spectaculer and in September they are about at their lowest - so obviously in the spring when they are in full flow after the thaw what would they look like.

We went on a Boat trip on Maligne Lake to Spirit island - it was a superb trip and the scenery fantastic - the island was named by the Native Indians 

Now this Moose is superb - they are very private animals and stay away from folks totally, the guide on the boat trip said this was the first one she had seen this year and our tour guide has not seen a moose for about five years - so we felt very privileged to see the two of them.

Long Horned sheep - they are really parochiel and feel the roads are theirs - and they saunter along in no hurry at all!!

When we got to Jasper we went white water rafting it was the most spectacular afternoon - we all got totally soaked and the guy organising us - well rowing - was determined to get us as wet as possible and headed for the most turbulent stretches of water.

Then from Jasper to the Rocky Mountaineer - it was everything I had dreamed off, spectacular scenerey.  we were lucky it was not fully booked and we had a whole carriage to six of us so - we could move about freely and enjoy the scenery.

When we got to Whistler - we were staying in the  Olympic Village which was very modern and lovely - the hotel room was more like an apartment and was great.  Anyway we took ourselves off on an off roading excursion into the surrounding countryside - great scenery and places you just could not imagine.   These are the falls with No name - great title!  

From Whistler we headed towards Vancouver via Capilano - this is a beautiful canyon with a suspension bridge that swung all over the place.  And the modern skywalk which was right out over the canyon - it was fantastic.

Well this is a very potted version of the tour but suffice to say it was actually fantastic.  From Capilano we went onto Grouse Mountain - but unfortunately Blogger has now decided not to upload anymore photos so this is the end of this section.  From Grouse Mountain to Vancouver then we went to Victoria Island.  I shall try to put the last few photos on at a later date!!

Honeymoon in Canada

Well you may just have noticed that I was missing for a little while - I have been to Do a Tour called the Canadian Oddessey - which took us from Toronto through the Rocky Mountains to Vancouver.

It was the most fantastic trip ever, we all felt that we needed to pinch ourselves everyday just to make sure it was real.  We were on a tour with 22 other folks, and it was a fantastic group - all with superb senses of humour and all very easy going.  Our Tour Manager also was great and looked after us exceedingly well.  So it was a holiday to remember.

 Day One and a tour of Toronto followed by a Harbour Cruise.  The weather was absolutely spectacular, around 28/29 degrees and clear blue skies.

 Day Two was a trip to Niagra - we flew over the falls in a helicopter first then to the falls themselves and on the maid of mist boat trip right into the falls and got slightly wet - it was an experience to remember. 

 Day three to Banff and a trip around Banff and these were the Bow River Falls - superb again the weather was absolutely fantastic.  We had a great tour around and it was a great trip.

This little fellow was busy collected food for his winter store - and just stopped to let us take a snap.

Lake Louise came next - named for one of Queen Victoria's daughters and oh what a view, we had a view of the lake from our hotel room.  The place was so opulent and the food was gorgeous.

Then to the Athabasgar Glacier - oh I just loved the way the canadian's draweled their words, they sounded so sexy - we were lucky our drivers were really proud of their Country and the Rocky Mountains.

We went on a trip on these enormous buses with the most fantastic tyres which enabled them to travel on the the glacier then we got out and had a walk around.

The Rockies have some of the most fabulous named places this was "Natural Bridge" at Kicking Horse |Pass!!!  The beauty of the place was just breathtaking.

Now I have spent hours just trying to download these photos so - I am going to do another post tomorrow with more photos.

I found a quilting shop in Banff which was called StychenTyme - lovely ladies with a fabulous selection of fabrics and wools! 

In truth with the trouble I have had with the uploading of photos today, it might take two more posts to go through the entire holiday!!!  So watch this space!!

Our Wonderful Day

Well here are some photos of the most wonderful day on Sunday - The Haycock Hotel was wonderful and the gardens were just perfect for the photos.  Most of these are courtesy of Angela - we have one or two official photos which were put on Facebook - but waiting for the rest.

 Little Leo just fifteen weeks- he was dressed in the most gorgeous babygro which was printed as a tuxedo he looked the business - he behaved perfectly during the ceremony and stole the whole show!!!!

Angela took this and it looks lovely we all seem so relaxed - have lost Caroline though wonder where she went.

Angela has managed to escape any of these pictures as she was behind the camera but hopefully there will be some of her when we get from other folks and the distantcloud pictures.  She tries to avoid the camera but I am certain she will have been caught at some stage.

 An absolutely wonderful day!!!  Here are some preview pictures, we are waiting for the official photos and Angela has just e mailed me the photos that she took, but I thought I would post these first.

This is pre-wedding  showing the tables laid out and the place settings I had made and the little fancies with the sugar almonds in them.  They have been taken on my phone so they are not quite as crystal clear as they could be but will give you all an idea of what I have been making over the past few weeks.
 

We bought the flowers home and these are on my coffee table in the lounge.

My friend has made this for me - it is so beautiful - Sandra if you read this blog which I know you normally do - thank you sooo much.  it was great to have you and Paul with us.

The decoration that we had on the main table in the Tapestry Room for the ceremony - they are now on our dining room table.

 My posy it is absolutely gorgeous - and now in our hall - I guess i should have thrown it for Barbara or Dawn to catch but somehow or other forgot all about that tradition.

This is the cover up I made with the single rose for the side table we had in the Barnaby Room - now on my kitchen windowsill.

Lots and lots of wonderful photos have been taken by lots and lots of wonderful friends - as soon as I have plenty and the poor man that is desperately trying to get on my computer to install the new all singing all dancing printer has finished I shall do yet another post. 

 Hello - thought I would do a very quick post - I am on countdown as Sunday is the big day - and everything is well in hand - the flowers look beautiful on all the place settings - there will be photos next week. Our dresses are all altered and hopefully fitting still!  The lads have their suits and I am informed they all look great!!

So all is hopefully organised!! the cakes are iced the stand is ready.  The cattery is booked for the cat - she will not be happy about that!!!

I have been busy this week at work - my friend was making a similar quilt to this - and I have adapted it slightly to hers and will teach it at Art and Stitch  - I think - by the time it is finished it will be towards the end of the year.

I chose a colourful honeybun and added co-ordinating long quarters to give it a colourful boost.  This can be made with scraps - but I wanted to have it bright and colourful as I shall give it to a little six year old called Millie when it is ready to go.

Well best go and get on with it - now - next time I blog I shall be married and be Pam Winter - yeh.

Well, here we go my plan to update my blog more regularly has been failing miserably  but look how this little fellow has grown - he is now twelve weeks old and so bright and bubbly.

Caroline, Liz and I had fittings for our dresses yesterday - oh by the way it is now under three weeks to the big day - and I shall be Mrs Winter!!   Liz has lovely long hair and leo found that great fun to pull, she looks like she is laughing but I think it is was actually a very big ouch!!

Well wedding plans are going well - I have finished all the flowers, and made the place settings, just got to glue flowers to them but Rob and I plan to do that tonight.  The little favours bags are all made and need filling.  

Oh it is getting quite exciting now - dotting the 'i's' and crossing the 't's' - it will soon be with us.

Well I have been busy making this quick drunkards path quilt ready for a class on the 25th August - now just need to put some borders on.  It is lovely bright and cheerful - and I have enjoyed putting it together.

Think I have decided on the spraytime purple for the framing border so have to get started now and finish this one.

More flowers - I think I am doing them in my sleep and they are multiplying - though could have done with the magic flower maker to assist me !!

I have made this time 82 red flowers and have just six more white flowers to make.  They are going to look absolutely gorgeous on the place settings.

 In total including the original invitations - which I did ages ago - I have made approximately 280 flowers - yeh I am quite pleased with myself.

Other things are taking a backseat at present as it is one month tomorrow to the big day - we have done the seating plan, sorted music, readings and I had my dress fitting Monday and it is looking good.

Now I have the fancies to make - the cakes to ice - must be something else to do - doesn't sound much that!

Rob is busy making a toy box for Liz & Tom's three little girls  (Tom's by his marriage - they are gorgeous twins of three and Millie age 5) and I have to make a cushion for the seat - no pressure eh!!  And Caroline has put in an order for her toy box for Leo as well.
